Putter fitting ?

Richard Kempton, very knowledgeable, was one of Wishons UK fitters.
I've used him when I worked over that way.
Thought he was retiring but I haven't spoken to him in over 5 years.

I had forgotten but I actually exchanged a couple of emails with him 2 years ago - he was moving out of his commercial premises but planning to set up something smaller in his garden on a part time basis, not sure if he did that or if he is still doing it ?

Any good recommendations for specialist putting coaches for putting lessons / putter fittings for amateur golfers? SE England ideally but would travel for right coach within reason (or as part of another journey)

Thanks

where are you based ?

I had a SAM Lab fitting when I got my Bettinardi - that was in London and the guy doing the SAM lab was excellent. I think there's an EDEL putter bloke near Dartford and I've hear nothing but good things about Edel Putter fittings.

Is this a rival to SAMLAB?

How does CAPTO differ to Quintic? I know Quintic measures ball data. Is Quintic not used for fitting, or do they complement each other?

my local club fitter changed from SAM to capto, says it's better as it captures more data and is also portable so can use it in a putting green rather than in a studio with a computer.

ChrisD, did you ever progress with this? The one club in my bag that’s constantly at risk is the flat stick which I have changed around 6 times in 5 years, it’s time for a long term relationship!

I’ve spoke to a Sam centre in Reigate and while they support several top brands stock holding is low. This gives little confidence that the fitting will give the best results given I can’t try what I’ll be buying.

I’ve also spoken with silvermere who arguably have the best stock....but.... their assessment would be by eye as there is no fitting, practice would be on carpet and testing would be taped up outside which had to give very poor feedback given the potential investment / cost involved.
