Hi guys, relatively new to this forum, been doing a lot of reading but not much posting.

Currently work in the pro shop at my club, generally a great club although I have just become the victim of theft for the second time in a year. My brand new FJ Classics went missing while I was in having lunch last year, fairly P'd off at that one. Went into work last week to find my putter had gone missing from my bag. I assumed someone had borrowed it. unfortunately I've asked my boss and it looks like someone has gone into the work shop and nabbed it. I was very attached to it (an odyssey white hot #8) the wee bladed gem!

Now I'm stuck as they aren't manufactured anymore and I am aiming to defend the Club Championship at the end of the month. Does anyone have one lying about that they don't use or something similar that they are willing to sell. I'm absolutely gutted and it's a difficult style of putter to find, they only appear on eBay once in a blue moon. Please help!

Mono,

Putters are idiosynchratic (people like their own style, model, set up) and it is the most unique club in the bag. Your putter may not suit my style and vice versa and I imagine the lower you get the more the right putter (in terms of confidence if nothing else) is a necessity.

I can't help you titleistkid but I hope you either find out who stole it or find a suitable replacement. Either way good luck later in the month.

I wouldn't want to be without my Scotty now, so i get where he's coming from. And even if he manages to get the same model again, i'm guessing it'll still feel different to him for a while?

I've got my old Odyssey dualforce 554 back in the bag after a two week sojourn (in rugby parlance it got cited for foul play - too many three putts) and I'm starting to hole out with confidence. As a poor putter I've owned loads over the last few years and so haven't developed the same affinity with one particular one the OP has. I remember when I use to play with my original ping anser (when I could putt) and thought I'd never be able to use another putter. How wrong I was.

There have been a number of cases over the years where tour players have had to suddenly find another putter (lost in transit etc) and have gone on to have good performances. I'd suggest the OP tries a few from the shop and sees if there are any that at least allow him to hole out. Who knows, it may be a blessing in disguise.

Awkward putter to replace. Doubt you will find one quickly. but simlar models are available. Odyssey tour series number 9, Ping have the i series piper and the MD Putters are great and will be similar. Or just plain ol ebay

He has also got to worry about size when he finds the putter he's looking for as there's a big difference between 35" and 34" etc.

Working in a Pro Shop I'm sure he can chop an inch off if required.

Andy

I must have read the original post 3 times and do you think i could remember that he said he worked in a pro's shop. :) Im going mad.
