whenever I have a wedge or 9-iron in hand, inside 100 yards or so, my shots (unless I blade of fat them) go straight to the left, a dead pull. i am aiming to the right and i try to set up with an open face but that only improves the outcome but does not cure the problem.

do you have any suggestions what else i could try ?

Although I don't have a definitive fix; I do know the problem.
I often play short irons/wedges thinking of playing a deliberate high "cut" shot. Almost like I'm trying to slice it. As long as I hold the face off, it tends to work.
Nothing worse than turning over the face on a wedge... :D

I used to do that all the time till a friend told me that's where I was aiming! So I now always pick a spot a few feet in front of the ball that lines up with where I want to shoot, line up with that spot and nearly always get it right!
Hope that helps :D
