Evening all,

A while ago I posted for peoples pros and cons about both systems, I am now in the position to buy one of them very soon :D So again the people who have them can you give me your views now that you have had them a while.

I went into game for a look and the sales dude just talked loads of things that i did not understand. Is the jump in graphics that much compared to the previous models? Are they easy to use ? Can you play blu rays ? Decent games ? Which one would be better for my 2 kids to have a blast on when their good ? What is the kinect (sorry if spelt wrong) thing all about ? Are they in your opinion worth the money or should I just stick with the PS3 ?

I have always had Playstations but with these 2 models I ain't got a clue.

Cheers for all your help

Xbox one has 2 hdmi inputs an in and out and I can say "Xbox snap" Xbox go to TV and I can play games whilst the golf is on etc

It really depends on what games you want to play. Have a look at the exclusive games available and coming out in the next year and choose based on which you prefer. There's not a lot of difference between them despite what the marketing departments want you to believe. PS4 is more powerful but that's not yet translating into better games. It'll take time for developers to get the best out of both consoles.

I haven't taken the jump yet but will be going xbox one when I do.

Brother has both. Crossplatform games are always going to be limited by the lower end console (check out how Watchdogs on PC was restricted by being multiplatform) so base your decision on exclusive and extra features.

As a platform for gaming along with streaming via Netflix and integration with sky TV etc then Xbox one all the way. Much nicer controller IMHO as well.

PS4 just doesn't grab my attention at all.

Is there price difference ? I have seen the ps4 in action but i did not feel the urge to just buy one. Think I am getting old :( nothing appeals to me.

I have had an xbox one since release but can be pretty objective about both.

I have always been an xbox man since the original and love the set up and contoller. It is easy to use and I suspect that tbe supposed graphical difference will not mean much going forward. Microsoft are updating and improving the system every month. I like that it is a full multimedia system, runs netflix, amazon prime and now tv and the hdmi input means I can run my cable tv through it.

Games wise there are, to my mind, better exclusives on xbox. I love forza and titanfall though the last of us on ps4 looks interesting. Love the sound of EA vault where you can play unlimited EA games for a small subscription. That is not coming to PS4.

Most in the industry are saying that PS4 is the better bit of kit but I am not seeing it yet. No real exclusive games have grabbed my attention.

Personally, I would ignore the kinect and buy the cheaper xbox without it. The voice control is cool but not £100 cool

When making my decision I went into a shopping mall where the SONY and Microsoft shops are opposite each other. Jumped between shops playing FIFA on both systems. I would say there was no real difference in the 2 systems. With having to pay a subscription for PS Network now, they have lost that edge in the market. I think the PS4 is going to evolve into a total gaming system, but the Xbox is going to be a great all round multi media system. Hooking the cable TV through the Xbox is about as lazy as it gets as you can just tell it to change the channels for you.

XboxONE for me, but both are pretty amazing.
