Does anyone have any sayings that they say to themslves as a prompt before/during their swing or their putting stroke.
for example..'Swing through and let the ball get in the way'

Prior to starting my take away, I used to say to myself "let your left side collapse, do a reverse pivot, swing out to in and let your elbow fly".
It's ingrained now so I don't have to say it.

Some people on here during their backswing like to say 'Oh gooly gosh, my shoes are looking a little mucky, I must give them a thorough clean and polish straight away' :D

I have a whole myriad of sayings that pop in and out of my thought process. They include:

Relax
Commit to the shot
Relax the right hand (I use that mantra at other times ( :o) so it's becoming more ingrained.....)
Take each shot as it comes
Forget what's been
You can pull this shot off
Don't worry about your oppo, concentrate on your own game.
Did I lock the car?
Don't three putt!
You can't miss this putt - it's only 12 inches!
You t'*t!
Don't shank it!
Why did you shank it?
Spin! (not much chance of that as it's first bounce is into the first cut at the back of the green!)
Oh joy - a lovely thin!
I can't wait to tell the forum about this round.
Please let me out drive Leftie.....

:p

Currently working on back and shank - Doh - back and slice - double doh and then returning to back and shank. Not hitting it well and a swing like Smiffy's may remain a pipe dream. I might have to lower my aim and look at Murph or Justone as role models
