I have just got win7 64 bit on my new lappy and it's a bitch for not recognising anything. I was going to get a new printer so thats not a problem but anyone know an all-in-one printer that will just plug and play on the 64 bit operating system. I dont want to be downloading drivers that never work I just want to unpack it plug it in and print. Any help greatly appreciated.

I have an HP Officejet 8500 "attached" via wireless network to mine. Works well, colour and B/w printing, double sided printing, fax, scan and photocopy. £150.

Many All in ones will sort of work out of the box with Windows 7 64 bit.

By that I mean that the printer part will often work straight away, The problem comes with the scanning part.

You can use Windows Fax & scan (part of Windows 7) but this is limiting

If you want it to work fully with the manufacturers software package, you will have to download the drivers from the manufacturers website.

In this respect HP are rubbish as typically a driver download can be 350Mb compare this to Canon at 25mb

just get yer backside in gear, go to the website, hit Support, drivers, Put in your model number and operating system and just download it

I wish it was simples however I have never had a driver update work yet. I don't know if it's me not knowing how to install the drivers properly or what but I can't seem to get them to work.
