Price of food

Food at ours is good enough. Reasonsbly priced and pretty good. Best post round food for me goes to Mid Yorkshire golf club. The filled yorkshire puddings were immense

Lee park has canteen food.

Foyle has a great restaurant. Had a 4 course meal today for 16 quid.

Soup
Steak
Strawberry eaton mess
Tea

The weight is going back on this week.

All any golf club needs is a bacon bap, sausage bap, all day breakfast, bowl of chips. Baps should be £2.50, £3.00 tops, all day breakfast £5, £5.50 tops. End of. (Okay throw in the odd panini to keep belly sizes down, £3.50 for those. If they are on the menu and around those prices then bars are busy with people eating. When clubs charge too much then they are rarely used.

I am sure the total spend is more if prices are reasonable as you are happy to spend at fair prices. When you know you are getting ripped off you get the minimum and leave. A good example of this up here is Slaley Hall where you pay hotel prices for food and drinks. After a round you see lots of halfs of lemonade, some pints and people only stop for one drink. Food, no thanks. Go to a proper club and you settle down for food and 2 or 3 drinks after a round as you dissect what happened.

Ours started a trial Sunday carvery a while ago. As with everything it started slowly, then word got round....it's now rammed every Sunday afternoon with golfers banished to the back room, where most used to go anyway, to f and geff and take the mick. £7.50 and it's fab !!!!!! as ids the rest of the food. Anyone had oatcake and melted cheese (and bacon on of required) with beans and chips? YUM YUM !!!!!!

Food is ok at ours if a bit expensive

Sandwich 1.80
Pasta Dish 4.00
Snitzel and potato salad 3.00
0.5l Beer 1.10
0.5l Coke 1.50
330ml water 1.50

That's not expensive !!!! But I notice that your soft drinks, and WATER are more expensive than your beer!!!!!! Just how can that be ?????!!!!!!!!

Hot breakfast rolls are between £1 - £2, but the quality isn't brilliant. The bacon/lorne is pretty salty and cheap tasting, but it is very cheap.

Burgers are good, from about £5 - £8, with fries and salad, about the same for fish and chips.

Coffee is good now they've installed a bean-to-cup machine.

Beer is pretty cheap, a pint of Carling is £2.60 or so.
