Practice Putting in a Medal Round

This Conversation arose in a medal comp today a playing partner said the rule had changed and it was now allowed, no one had a upto date rule book on them,pro shop shut when we got back,so does anyone know what the answer is

I think this was mentioned not that long ago, its is ok to practice putt but unless there is noone behind you, might be frowned upon by the chasing fourball.

I think you can practice on the green you have just left or on the next tee box but certainly not on a green yet to be played.

As long as youre not holding play up then its permissable to practice on or near to the green just played I think

You can practice putt after you have holed out either on the green just played or on the next tee box!

They obviously have not seen the state of our par 3 tees!!!!!
