Hi

I’ve got one of these trolleys, bought it second hand years ago. The battery’s on the way out now and so I’m looking to replace it with another. Sticking to lead because the trolley’s that old it’s likely to pack in altogether in the next couple of years, and so don’t want to fork out for lithium.

I’ve seen the one below on eBay, price seems pretty good. The description says that it’s suitable for a number of trolleys including powakaddy, but I asked the seller if it’s suitable for mine and their reply was ‘ask powakaddy’...that’s not a shortened version! ?

At the minute the connection from trolley to battery is a kind of T shape which clicks into an adapter on the battery itself. This one on ebay describes as coming with ‘terminals are bolt connectors’.

Anyone had any experience of buying replacement batteries who could confirm that this one would fit mine or if I’d need to buy another adapter?

Check to see if the adapter on your current battery can be removed. Chances are it will have round terminals and it won't attach to the battery you are considering buying.

Always worth checking to see if it is the brushes on the motor first. Very worn brushes give the same symptoms as a worn out battery.

The brushes when new are around 1" long.

Once they get to less than half that length best to replace them.

If it is the battery look for one with a T bar connector such as

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200860000084?_trkparms=aid=1110006&algo=HOMESPLICE.SIM&ao=1&asc=20200818143230&meid=ec45bf6c3d6b40c589921109236bbf57&pid=101224&rk=4&rkt=5&sd=190628054861&itm=200860000084&pmt=0&noa=1&pg=2047675&algv=DefaultOrganic&_trksid=p2047675.c101224.m-1

The Tbar connector can be removed from your old battery and fitted to a new one if you want to go that route.

I have never used them myself but this company seems to have a good choice at good prices

Thanks both, I’ll have a look at the current battery tonight, see if I can take the adapter off etc.
