Postman Pat Power

My son, who is a Postie, told us that the parcels they have might not get delivered in time for Christmas Day. They have been swamped. Thing is, at their depot they are being "funny" about O/T payments so the lads have told 'em to shove it. Also the lads were asked to rock up on Sunday to get the parcels out. "Are you paying double time?" was the question. The answer was negative. "Shove that too".

Brilliant. If only the rest of the working population had done this then all shops that open Sunday would be paying the proper rate for Sundays.
Good on them, hope they stick to it or RM pay them correctly.

Good on them, hope they stick to their guns.surely this should all be covered under their contracts/terms of employment though.
Trouble is Royal Mail are an old fashioned company with old contracts etc.
These new delivery companies will be like delivery mercenaries. Starting workers with poor contracts and getting away with it which will make it difficult for companies like Royal Mail to compete.

Isn't this the same kind of argument that the junior doctors were having not so long ago.
