Post on FB this week

Do you know how long or deep that split is? Is the geography problematic or is this a proper freak action?
Coastal erosion

There are lots of cliff falls along that section of the coast. Lyme has already built new holes and there is one in place ready for the next fall. Bridport looks like it is going to have to do the same.

If I am interpreting that picture correctly the bunker is already in the OB as the posts and wires have now gone inland. Been a few years since I last played Lyme and even more since I played Bridport.
Is it he fairway bunker on the first hole with the two people walking from green towards tee?
It occurred to me that we are looking towards the sea.

No I would expect it to be one of the cliff side holes. There is a public footpath along there and the walkers are probably not golfers.
It is similar with Bridport , the coastal path is alongside their course but walkers now walk in the course.

From course maps I would favour 15th at Bridport.

Yes. The red arrow is pointing at the left fairway bunker at the top of the hill on the 1st hole at Lyme. The other side of the hedge is the short 9th hole. That area is a long way from the cliffs edge.

I thought so.
I walked the coastal path in recent years and that goes through the middle of the course now.
