Been golfing for a few weeks now, bought aload of new gear to get me going, so been going to driving range very regular, I've been daily this week some times twice, been about 8 times in 5 days, been getting a lot better, but today I could hardly swing the clubs, only hitting about 150 yards with the driver! Felt abit of an ache between my shoulder blades when swinging, so I'm guessing I've over done it ? Any one else found this happen? Guess I should give it a few days rest

You need to match the work with good stretching and rest periods or you can injure youself.

Looks like you might need to add some flexibility work and stretching before practice if you are not already doing it.

I used to do about 20 minutes one or two nights a week on flexibility.

Remember also you can do 5-10 mins a night practice just gripping a club or even posture in a mirror without a club, you dont need to be hitting balls on the range to be practising!

Be careful!

Last year our local range did unlimited balls for £200 and I saw a guy there who was new to golf and was hitting about 600 balls a day. He was retired and wanted to take the game up, but, after several weeks of smacking balls on a mat he completely messed up his elbow etc and that was the end of plan A.

yes, having a break myself. finished work the week before Christmas and played every day except Christmas and New years day. have not played at all this week and was still off till Wednesday.

Sometimes you need a break, pure and simple
