Evening all,

On may 7th, myself and 6 others are flying to Portugal to play the Faldo and O'connor courses, flying back on the 11th. We had a group of 8, but unfortunately due to illness, and a very serious one, one of the group can no longer make it.

I have put a few ads out at the club I am a member of but no one seems to be wanting to come, even tho the deal it's self is an absolute scorcher! If no one gets back to me from the club within the next week or so, then il be offering the spot on here.

The price is unbelievable, £199 for unlimited golf on the 2 courses (we done it last year and played 2 rounds a day)..... This price includes buggies, buffet breakfast each morning and on the last day, we are playing the old course which is ment to be a real nice track.

The accommodation is absolutely beautiful, modern, private pool, large sitting and kitchen area, roof top terrace over looking the course. Living the dream.

On the evenings, we will prob have 1 poker night and the others will be vilamoura having a few drinks and a bite.

It's a cracking bunch of lads, with ages ranging from 23 to 60+, and handicaps from mid single to high teens.

Aslong as you can take so banter, some on and off the course antics and games, and enjoy your golf, you will having a cracking time.

Obviously flights will be on top of the £199, but for what you get it is amazing value.

But as the title says, we only need 1 person.

Feel free PM me if interested or if you have any questions

Tom

P.s apologises if this is in the wrong section.

Thought our deal to Amendoeira at £249 for 4 nights was good - £199 better. We're going back again this year as the value for money was too good.

i think we had the 249 deal last year but we got on the early bird and booked as soon as it became available so got it at a cheaper price.

did you stay in the course side villas?

such a nice complex!

we also booked flights the day they came out, and got them for £53 return!

Rusty can you let me know how you go on re Faldo and Oconner course. I will be playing one of them in April but undecided.
will also play the old course as also staying in Vilamoura.

Certainly is a great offer, Amendoeira is a superb set up.

Tashyboy, The courses are so different from each other. The O'Connor is mostly flat with a lot of wide (30yds) reed filled ditches quite a few doglegged holes. The Faldo has a quite a few ups and downs, a lot of very big bunkers, often in the middle of the fairway and in my opinion is more gimmicky but I have never played a course like it.

So if you want something a bit different play the Faldo, for me the O'Connor is more like a normal golf course.

Consensus in our group was that the O'Connor was the better course. Perhaps you should play it in tribute anyway...

Tashyboy, although we aren't going until may, we played last year. The Faldo has some very long and hard holes, and some ridiculous bunkers, especially the par 3s. The back 9 is very enjoyable and picturesque. A buggy is definitely needed for this course.

The O'connor was more like your average golf course, still beautiful and a difficult track but not as hard as the Faldo, altho there is a small stretch I think it was 12/13/14 they were pretty hard holes and we referred to them as amen corner all week.

If you are a long hitter, then Faldo is your course. The higher handicaps in our group preffered O'connor and lower preferred the Faldo, but both are fab.

Over the 4 days, the best round was 34 points, set by yours truly :D

That was the par three under the road, the dogleg round the lake and the long par 4 back into a stupid strong afternoon breeze (every time), with an almost impossible 2nd shot carry over the water in front of the green.......

Ahh yes, I think it was 13/14/15 then. Altho that short par3, caused us a few problems with the slopes to the side of the green!

Just thinking about going back is giving me butterflies.

The last par 3 was a beauty! iirc it was about 170/180 into a long narrow green with bunkers all around, and long bushes all around and in front.

When we went last year, I birdied the SI 1 hole, had water all down the right and upto the green.... I was playing off 24 at the time!

Yourgolftravel.com.... Darren sent us!
We got offered the same deal with golfbreaks but as we used these last year, we decided to give them out custom again!

Dont think I will go wrong with either course. When I stumbled across them last year. It went straight on my bucket list at the expense of snogging Sigourney Weaver.
Thanks for all the replies folks.

You'll love it. Try book a early tee time, it can be a long round if you tee off mid morning. Our first round took over 6hours, but the rest were fine as we teed off about 8:30/9
