Playing with oneself

Quite often go out for a round by meself. Our clubs quite friendly though, and almost always get asked to join up with others.

I don't worry about it though, I quite enjoy the solitude on occasion, and just wandering round the course with no pressure to play/ win is a very pleasant experience to be savoured.

I have been going out by myself for the past few weeks as I found I did not have the stamina for 18 holes with the seniors. I was doing only 9 holes but more rounds in the week.
It seems to be working and yesterday I managed 18 holes with no ill effects so I will be back in competition with the old gits very soon.

Often start out alone but very often join up even if just for a few holes here and there. There is no issue with it and most will pass you through. There are always some who had a look at a rule book when they started and quite obviously never since.

The big bug bear is 'Unless otherwise determined by the Committee'. There are some who remain in the dark ages and refuse to recognise a solo golfer's right to exist.

Quite enjoy playing on my own to be honest,as mentioned previously my playing have work commitments, families etc. so cant always play the same time as me. But what I found out the hard way was, when i first started out playing, playing on my own was a no no! found I was to busy moving my head to see the where the ball went rather than focusing on the fundamentals..many thin and topped shots :o
