Playing with fewer clubs?

It always amazes me the good score we get in our 3 club comp (including putter) shot mid 70 gross myself last time and didn't come close;)

It kind of shows you that with a full set your course management sucks

So work on that

Applies to me and pretty much every amateur golfer out there, that is the lesson to take away.

I did work out a while back that i should probably hit driver twice in a round at one of my old clubs, i believe i wound normally have used it 12 or even 14 times!

I have 12 at the moment (13 if I pack my 4iron, which I hardly ever use, so it normally stays at home). If I had to pick 7 it would be: driver, 7 wood, 5, 7, 9 iron, sandwedge (56°) and putter. Would it make a difference? Yes, but not a massive one. I guess I would need maybe 4 or 5 shots more a round.
