My current nemesis is playing it out of rough.

If I am between 30 and 50 yards away I am happy to play a half swing SW or PW into the green. If it is further I am giving the PW a little more whack, getting it closer.

Where I am struggling is when I am in the rough next to the green, for example 2 yards off. I don't think I have a shot that carries the rough, but at the same time doesn't hit the green with so mush speed that is it rolling/flying right across it, mostly to the other edge of the 1st cut again.
The alternative is giving it less, but then most often I am not even clearing the rough.

What shot do you guys use when in that situation? Is it different when the pin is near side or far side on the green?

Cheers,
Lars

I generally use the duff or the blade, doesn't matter where the flag is.

If it's deep rough then I believe that the best option is to play it almost like a bunker shot.
