Playing on your own!!

i hate playing a round on my own, prefer joining up with someone and having a bit of company on the way round.
if cant get any of my usual playing buddies i meet up with someone at the course

Well I'm billy no mates, so I usually only ever play on my own. If its really early in the morning, or as it starts to get dark, there's usually only me on the course so I take a few balls and just practice all the shots I can.

shouldn,t be allowed, played the other week and saw 3 one balls on the course, surely theres always someone to get a game with, cant see the enjoyment of playing on your own

Why on earth should it not be allowed? Because you don't enjoy solo golf?

Plenty of people, myself included, enjoy a round on their own from time to time.

What the hell??? Why not? I cannot see how it's a problem if I'm out by myself? :D

If I start to catch up the group in front and there's no-one behind me, I'll slow down, putt some more, hit a couple more off the tee, play a couple of extra bunker shot, etc.

I won't ever chase a group down and "demand" to be let through. I may be invited to join them, and that's great.

I often go out on the course by myself, sometimes at weeknights and sometimes for another 9+ holes after a morning round.

Not much of a solo golfer, I end up getting distracted and try to record some of my shots only to get home and notice the iphone had fallen over or was pointed showing only my legs.
Id rather spend a solid hour or more drilling a fix or change into my game, it gets confidence up quicker than occasional shots on the course.

There are some areas of the course where you can see people have taken 6 or more divots hitting balls into greens, if they didnt replace their divots you can pretty much bet they didnt fix any pitchmarks either.

Haven,t got a problem with people playing on their own, its when people practice on the course on their own, shouldnt be allowed, playing six balls on one hole, then convincing themselves they played well, because one of the six shots they have just hit from the same spot was ok, one ball, one shot, how it should be played, there are practice grounds for a reason

my mates very sporadic when they play, maybe once twice a month maybe less, where as im 3 times a week, so fridays i play in a stableford comp with the club im joining so 2 rounds are by myself, thats until i join the club and then i will participate in the doubles comps on the weekend

Nothing better than deciding on the spur of the moment to nip up and get a quick nine in, especially during the summer. Chances are most of my regular partners will have either gone out while I was still at work as they live/work closer (and finish earlier) or don't fancy it. I love being out there on my own, especially after work as its great chill down time. Even better if you play well

Here here Homer. I've been pretty stressed out with work the last few weeks as we're going through massive changes at the moment (60 hour weeks and so on at the mo). Played on Sunday on my own and realised i hadn't thought about it once on the way round. Best chillax ever

like a lot of others i play a few holes in the evening or sunday pm on my own, never getting in the way and slipping throught o holes not bbeing used by other members. Great way to practice and quite enjoy giving myself encouraging words!!

Never play on my own, as I can't stand it. I need a partner to listen to all the drivel I spout. :D

The nearest I got to it was on holiday this year in Spain, but I still had my daughter with me to drive the compulsary buggy. I work from home by myself, so golf is important to me for meeting up with people.
