Fancied playing Nefyn ever since we drove by last year and just did it!
Took careful note of weather forecast and got there just as rain was stopping. Fab views, esp as sun came out just as we began the 'old course' back nine.
check out the views
http://www.nefyn-golf-club.com/Took a few of my own which I'll post somewhere later.
And I made 35 points! Worst moment was 2nd hole where I lost ball over cliff and then lost nerve. Time to recover on easy next par 3 (a temp hole because of 9th being out of play - don't know why)
Disappointed there were quite a few temp greens (although this prob helped my points). Did okay on much tighter back nine despite a few duff shots.
A Grand Day out. Must do it again some time. Just 1 hour from rellies on Angelsey.
Now quaffing a glass of dry white and Masters on tv. - and sister-in-law is doing the cooking.
Who could ask for more?
Happy Easter to all.

Hi Ali

Just looked at Nefyn- it looks a fantastic course. You must have played excellent golf to shoot 35 points. The Easter holidays are interfering with my golf at the moment but I am really looking forward to meeting you and Mr B at Oake Manor. I have booked the day off work, now just need the weather to be fine.

I am also watching Masters, trying to get lots of useful tips!! :)

One place years ago we broke down half way there and never made it . Should have gone in my car  but no, he wanted to show off his BMW .

Its one on my 'still to do' list. :D

Nefyn is a crackin' course I love it. Have played the Old & the new. The first 10 holes shared between both courses.

If I lived over in North Wales this is one that I'd love to be a member of & the membership rates at nefyn are a half, or a third of the price most of my local courses near me.

AliB did you play the New or the Old, or go the whole hog & get a day ticket & play both Old & New ?

I'd always recommend getting a day ticket for any of these Welsh coastal tracks anyway.

Will be playing Porthmadog & Nefyn in June. Fortunatly, its all been prepaid as I'm not sure where I'd find the money from at the moment.

Hi we played the old.
think we got off lightly as rough was cut back on 1 - 10 and not too penal. 9 was out of play and a par 3 added as 3, 4 playing par 4.
Still a great day, though, esp for 'parklanders' like us.
We also played Henllyys Hall on Angelsey where we play quite often - a lot less dramatic golf-wise but lovely views to Snowdonia. Played Bull Bay once - pretty testing! will have to get out on some of those other N. Wales courses some time.
Main tip for Nefyn - avoid Bank Holidays - and weekends? On Good Friday we had to negotiate many families having a stroll along the old course - just to add to the fun!
