Got to apply a mist coa t to some new plaster this weekend, usually some trade emulsion watered down, ~ 80%.
Find using a roller a bit messy so was thinking trying a paint pad.
Anyone used pads or have other suggestions.
Usually end up with more paint running down my arm than going on the wall/ceiling with a roller 😂

I've got a lot of plaster to mist coat lol

Did the kitchen yesterday

80% normal paint 20% water

I know the pain!!!

Does the plaster need to be fully dry before a mist coat ?
In the main looks the right shade of pink, but there are still a few darkish patches.

Yes. Don't add liquid to already damp plaster.

what he says! When its all the same colour, i would still give it an extra day or 2 as its only the surface thats dried. This time of year its going to be slow, dont rush it and ruin it by painting too early!

thought so, its been over a week now, out in the porch with no heating

Uniform white sort of colour it should be

Tried to upload a pic of my dry plaster but this forums upload limits are pathetic

Watered down emulsion using a roller is my recommendation.
I use a good quality roller on a pole; don't overload it, don't press too hard or roll too fast, or try to spread it too thinly.
Your plaster should be completely dry before applying.

Wife wants to mist coat the loft today.. she saved the 'fun' bits like stairs and ceiling for me of course! So little lady is with me whilst mummy tackles some of the new plaster lol

12 inch roller is defo where it's at. Much quicker and easier than the 9
