The other cheerful thing to consider is lasting power of attorney. I have it for the Mrs, she has it for me.

As Murph says do sort the power of attorney as well , we have just had to sort my father out as he has had to go into care (dementia ) a nightmare some companies if you do not have this .

Wills are written but we are going to have them redone as they applied when the children were little, my wife was working, and my pension wasn’t sitting as a fair lump sum in a pension fund...

I wrote codicils to our wills before we went travelling this year but need to get wills properly updated.

Circumstances have changed so we’ll update our wills.

Just treating it as something to be done and not to be in any way morose about. It’s a positive thing - just in case life takes a funny or unexpected change of direction.
