Had the G20s (Red dot - just a little bit flatter than standard - see clubs in big below) from early Aug, and have had something like 8 rounds with them.

In summary, i am astonished at the immprovement in consistency that they have brought, especially as my standard game is "boring, boring, boring" to quote my normal partners. Bad shots are generally at the edge of teh green rather than wider, and the distance on mishits is very good. I am playing 2 clubs less than with my previous Hogan Apex FTX.

Wedges, i thought would be interesting because all 4 have quite wide soles. It only took 1 to 2 rounds to get used to that, and now i absolutely love them - to be honest i really cant believe that i woudl love them as much as i do.
They just pitch and chip the ball so straight/online.

The hybrid is a revelation. I have tried hybrids before and not got on with them. I hit the 20 deg off fairways and tees. i would be tempted to now stick teh 27 degree as well and take teh 4i and 5i out ! But i won't cos the irons are working very vwry well.

The 4i and 5i(poss) are the only clubs that i notice any offset on.

I hit the irons much higher than i used to, so all that fitting stuff seems to be right :)

The 5 wood i am not quite in love with just yet - it's a bit like an on-off lust-filled affair - it's really great looking, and i've hit some career shots with it, but i still occasioanlly thin it or push it a bit.

The K15 driver is fantastic; hits it really long, and whilst i do my utmost best to pull it with my old "low draw"
every so often, it usually hits it nice and long and straight, with the occasional push to the right edge of the fairway. I can swing easy with the K15 and get some good distance, but it really does respond to a hard swing.

What have tehy done to my game ? My short game, which used to be a big srtength, is BETTER .
I'm hitting 2 clubs less than previous.
The 20 deg hybrid gives me a really good option off the fairway.
And i'm hitting noticeably longer and more consistently off the tee, giving me more chance to use shorter irons in, and the wedges, giving me more birdie chances.
(On Friday, late to the course, didnt get a chance to putt on the practice green with my V-easy; 3 putted 5 of the first 6 holes, and still shot 35 points, with an eagle and 2 birdies.)

Am seriously looking forward to the months ahead.

Can we post this review in the "why do we buy new irons" thread, as ive just found myself looking at G20's after reading this....Must not buy new irons, must not buy new irons...repeat until the lust has worn off.....

Yep thats a rave review... I feel like I want some of that too!!

Great review sev and I'm really glad that the new clubs are working so well for you. Here's hoping they also result in a significant handicap cut :)

I do think there is a degree of deeper perception required for the magpie's though. sev was bound to get a greater degree of relative benefit because of the clubs he was upgrading from, compared to someone who currently plays the Mizuno JPXs for example ;)

I have a subtle feeling that this comment may be aimed at me.. :p
Having fantastic irons in the bag doesn't mean that I can't dream about even More fantastic irons...If I keep trading up, I can be a major winner within 2 years...It must be true, the advertising tells me so...

Couple of thinsg to add

I have no doubt that the consistency of the irons (ie low dispersion) and the straight chips/pitches are fundamentally because of having the right lie angle for my height; and having a right shaft to match my swing tempo.

i'm sure that whist the average golfer can't really distinguish between iron heads of similar type/design, they really can reap the benefits of propoerly fitted lie angles, shaft stiffness, and modern design

I've just got some, I hope to hit the ball higher with them, straight isn't a problem neither is long but I struggle with height. 7/10 days and they will be here.

This is a great review, Sev. I am going for a custom fit session on Friday and have these clubs high on the list of things that I want to try and buy! This isn't helping my wanting to be impartial and go in with an open mind plan though!

I've recently got a set of these 5-sw with a yellow dot, only played one round with them but I was getting easily 20 yards more distance than I did with my old clubs, and tons of forgiveness.

I guess the best thing about these irons is that you get your money's worth. I'm a 28 hc but they can be used by low hc'ers too, something I hope to be eventually!

A great write up Sev, as you know i received my G20 range at the same time as Sev and again have noticed significant improvements in my game.

I opted for the G20 driver with a stiff shaft and 12 degrees and have to say that this is the best driver i have ever hit. My slice is now a slight fade and the distance i have noticed is around 20 yards more carry but more importantly on the fairway. Cracking driver that i urge everyone to at least try.

I have had more success than Sev by the sounds of it with the 5 wood. It has been superb off the deck.

Agree with the comments regarding the hybrid, it is the first hybrid that i can confidently hit straight more often than not off the tee and deck which has really helped on longer par 3 holes.

The irons are producing a lovely high straight flight with plenty of forgiveness and feel which still amazes me considering the fact that they are a GI club. The only iron that im lacking confidence with is the 5 iron that when hit well stays hit but i just need to find more consistency. This though I know is down to technique as oppose to the club.

I would agree once again with Sev regarding the wedges, they are a little chunky on first sight but once you get over that they are superb. I am having great success with the utility wedge from just off the green .

If i needed anymore convincing that these are a super range of clubs then i only need to look at my handicap. I have gone from 15.5 to 13.9 in a month.
