I can't even get photos off my phone onto my laptop these days. It was dead easy when I had an iPhone - when plugged into my laptop the iPhone appeared as device and the folders containing the photos were visible so just a copy or move. But I've moved to a LG (Android) and though it appears as a device I can't see any photo folders and I have no idea how to get them off - online searches indicate having to download and install special software - is that really required?
You could try emailing them from your phone to your laptop email addy. Otherwise it's just a case of locating the folder with piccies in, not always obvious but spend a little time and you will find them.I can't even get photos off my phone onto my laptop these days. Thanks all. I'll try again - though I can see the phone on my Laptop when I click on it to open it to show folders nothing shows (or it doesn't open). And I am currently reduced to Emailing photos.
I will check about having it linked to a cloud account. I should be able to do that as it's a work phone and I use company cloud secure storage rather than having any work docs actually sitting on my laptop.
When you plug your Android phone to lap top, the default is "Charge Mode". You need to click on "usb charge" or whatever it says on the phone and tick one of "Transfer Files, Transfer Photos" option. You will then see all the folders on the laptop as normal.
