Phone Tracking Apps

How do you figure only 18-20 would be required. That’s a quiet golf course , most clubs firing a weekend or comp with have more that 18 groups out playing. Would be quite a significant outlay to buy enough units to account for double that , plus a spares or repair contract and the software to run it.

I’m same I wouldn’t wanna allow anyone to track me out in the course same as I don’t when I’m away on holiday it’s my time to escape the world not be followed and policed
Well, that's fine. I was only trying to think of a way to speed up play. If the shop could see a group had lost a significant distance from a group in front of them they could be rung to suggest they let a group(s) through or speed up.

The simplest answer is education of members and golfers and pace of play and applying the relevant penalties for loss of holes and slow play.

Slow play isn’t the only issue though there are just as many people out there obsessed with getting round the course as fast as they can which also causes unnecessary pressure on others. People need to simple have more realistic expectations and manage their own groups accordingly if they’re falling behind or forcibly pushing other groups along.

Can't that be done by players on the course using their cellphone? :)

Don’t even need the phone just speak to the group in front and tell them to politely move along and regain their pace or allow you through 🤷🏼
Yeah coz that works. Sometimes you just don't The opportunity to ask. The group in front are just off the tee and out of talking ear shot. The amount of debate on here regarding slow play shows the need for something.

It does work if you take the opportunity and time if they’re just off the tee or your on the green near the next tee it takes seconds to walk over to them and speak to them

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer but "when possible" just doesn't cut it for me. And this asking rubbish, is just rubbish. Sometimes you just can't get close enough.
You say it doesn’t cut it! When I suggest you go and speak to the people causing the issue you came up with reasons not to!

Perhaps it’s time instead of saying it doesn’t cut and seeking outside assistance to actually back yourself take a minute or two and just tell people that they’re causing an issue. It’s to easy to palm off responsibility to a pro, shop or app. It’s time people started self policing and addressed the issue head on. If you can’t do that then get the members names and at the half way point or end of your round go to the pro report them and ask for feedback about how it’s been dealt with!
