Due to play on Monday, anyone played it recently? what kind of condition is it in?

It's been closed for maintenance in the last week but with the weather we've had up here, I'm not sure what nick it's going to be in!

It's okay but the worst of the 3 courses.Often described as the worst course in Auchterarder.

I like the front 9 though but for me apart from a couple of strong holes on the back 9 it's bland and a bit of a boring slog.

I am sure it will be in okay nick though as the courses up there always are.

Worst course at Gleneagles, so out of character. Not my cup of tee at all. If you can swap it for the Kings or Queens do it.

That said it has a few really good holes.

I'm staying over with the wife and have the choice of any of the courses to play and picked this purely for the "feather in the cap" with it holding the Ryder Cup in a few years.

Would you say I'd be better placed taking in the Queens or the Kings?

110% yes, however in the winter they sometimes offer you a composite course made up of holes on both the Kings and Queens.

It may be worth checking out. You will have fun on the PGA, for me its just a bit of a boring slog, as Dodger says especially the back nine.

I quite like the PGA :o the main problem being the distance from greens to tee's...some of them are longer than a par 4!

I might like it because it suits my slice, Mr Nicklaus knows his stuff and if a left to right ball flight is good for the bear, it's good enough for me!

I would however concede that changing to the Kings would be advisable, it is better.

The PGA is quite nice. A bit of a slog but the other two are top notch.

If you can plays the Kings, jump at the chance. If you end up playing the PGA, it's quite a nice track.

As said, the PGA will be a long slog this time of the year especially if walking. Even in a buggy, there is a long way to walk from the paths onto the fairway especially if the rough is wet and I don't think you will be allowed buggies on the fairways at this time of the year. For my money I would play the Kings.
