People's Open ?

Hi All... I saw an advert yesterday in the daily express for the people's open golf tournament at Birkdale.I thought i might enter for next year they have qualifiers all over the country.Has anybody got any info on this or have you played in this year's event?

I know of this.....but, there's a massive catch.....

Only the top 6 from each venue go through.....which means that unless you can beat the bandits, you end up playing 1 course for £75.

It's off 3/4 so you'd need to be a low figure to stand any chance.

I played in a few random national comps off h'cap when I was really improving.....never got anywhere.....and often played to the equivalent of 40 points (stableford).

Basically, there will be lots of mad keen youngsters capable of shooting 6-8 under net.....it's a bad deal....
