I agree it is only to the benefit of the European Tour if he is playing here next year. I am not his biggest fan either though, just can't take to him but no denying that he is a great golfer.

Totally agree regarding his Ryder cup place. Also the fact the USPGA's loss is the European tours gain.

I on't really have an opinion on him as a person (as I've never met him) but hope he can bounce back to winning ways in 2012.

I was in the US on hols last couple of weeks and caught a fair bit of coverage of the Frys.com tournament on the Golf Channel. Casey was the highest world ranked player in the field and for the first couple of days looked the class of the field (certainly better than Tiger who was also playing). I saw a good few interviews with him and he was talking about suffering from Turf Toe, whatever that is, which has stopped him swinging properly for most of the year.

They showed some swing analysis to explain how it affected him and I have new found respect for him for even being close to keeping his card given that. I'm sure he'll get plenty of invites next year as a WGR top 20 player, so the chance to get back inside the top 120 on the US list next year should be relatively comforatable for a player of his class.

Also, he flew back from his tournament win in Asia specifically to play in the Frys try to make enough to keep his card. Ordinarily I doubt most players would bother with that time zone change from a Sunday to Wednesday, so I think he was giving it a go.

He may not be everyone's cup of tea, but to gloat over a guy losing his card primarily through injury seems pretty unnecessary.

Paul is one of my favourite players on tour and I think he's a really genuine guy. I saw him on three of the tutorials in the Golf Live show May 2010 and he was a good laugh and signing loads of stuff (unlike Poulter!).
He would be in my dream four ball with the others being Rory and Aaron Baddeley.

Used to like him until I heard a comment he made about amatuers in Pro-am's. Arrogant tw&t... I like his swing, and he's a great golfer when on form but for him to reveal what he thinks of "us" amatuers. I wish him well but I wouldn't cross the street to talk to him.
