Paul Casey

Does he not have exemption? He is one of the few golfers I have never really taken a liking to so it wouldn't bother me.

He would have to rely on sponsors invites this side of the pond as well as hes not exempt in Europe either as far as I can see.

Bit of both I think Chris, but as you already said he not really a player I have taken too either.

Has that smarmy looking grin on his face all the time that you would never tire slapping:mad:

That's an opinion which lots of people seem to hold, presumably based on how Casey comes across on TV.

A few years ago, David Howell pulled together a charity golf day to raise money in memory one of the pros at his home club, Broome Manor, who had tragically died and left a young family behind. Casey was the highest ranked player who came along to play on this Muni course. His demeanour was delightful, he was interacting with the crowd all the way round, and was happy to sign autographs for kids as he walked the fairways. This was not a Corporate day, he wasn't being paid to act nicely, so since then I have judged him on what I saw that day.

Wow.. that's some crisis he's having. He's a lowly 20th in the World Rankings... ;)

Give the guy a chance, he's got the winter to work on things and then he'll probably be back out there knocking it a long way at the start of next season. He's been fighting a foot injury and decided to play the last couple of events to have enough event to keep his card.

I would say if I had a list of people who I think deserve their legs slapped, PC would be well down that list.
But I can see how he could rub people up the wrong way.
I hope he recovers from his injury soon and plays well next year.

I've liked him ever since he said how much he enjoys beating the yanks in Ryder Cups... Brave thing to say considering he's based himself over the pond, good luck to him but I hazard a guess he's too good not to spring back to some sort of decent level.

He won't be without a tour card as he will be exempt on the european tour because of his win in the volvo champions earlier this year. So he will be alright and actually will serve him better if he wants to make the Ryder Cup team!

Didnt realise that. Interesting times ahead for Casey as his wife is American and he talks about how settled he is. Wonder if he'll bite the bullet and move over to Europe for the season or if he'll rely on sponsors invites to get enough gigs in the States to try and regain his playing privileges.

I think he has a wonderful golf swing, its a swing I'd happily have myself.

Paul Casey has lost his card.

Pulled out with an upset tummy bless him! Won't play next week, I question his bottle if he's not up for a fight to keep his gravy train card.

Still I guess its the European Tour's gain as he's committed to playing in Europe again next year ahead of the Ryder Cup. A big name in European golf and a crowd puller.
