Par 6

I thought somebody might have picked up on CONGU introducing a directive for setting a par 6. From 1st January 2012 a hole of 661+ yards can now be a par 6.

Played a course over in N Ireland that had a Par 6. Seemed to go on forever, >600yds uphill at the start and tree lines all the way. Murder ! 16th at Bright Castle.

Played it DCB, they have reigned it in to a long par 5 now, moving the tees forward.

I played a course in Denmark in the late 80s and it had a par 6, 623 METRES long.
Luckily it had about a 3 club wind behind
So for me it was a driver, 2x3 woods a 4 iron and a wedge
