Well I managed to miss the cut in the club championship by 3 shots. I finished on nett 78 (+8) and 75 crept in. However I played our 6 par 3's in a colossal 12 over par gross (or basically used my whole handicap on those holes alone).
I started with a triple courtesy of a duffed bunker shot and three putts, went OB at the 6th, and brain still scrambled sliced one way right into thick stuff at the tiny 139 yard 8th. The back nine was no better pushing my tee shot right at 11 into thick stuff and three putting. I made a bogey 4 at 13 after hooking the tee shot and then finaly hit a good tee shot on the 17th just right of the green and hit a ropey chip and another 3 putt.
Basically what it means was that I was only 8 over for the other holes including a double at the 7th. If it wasn't for my bad luck with bad bounces on the holes I struck the ball well on I'd have had no luck at all.
The frustrating thing was that the actual ball striking was great and that I was working really hard to keep a score going. It's just bloody frustrating when you've hit the ball well in practice and yesterday in a practice round (nett 71 yesterday) and then have a dodgy start get it back and then throw it away on the 6th and 7th (triple-double).
At least I get a lie in tomorrow and can have a day without hitting balls or playing and can enjoy an English test victory and a good last day in the golf. Its a stupid blooming game anyway
