Not played cricket for a good few seasons. Combination of kids being young, time and enthusiasm for the game meant I 'retired'.

Went down to nets on Friday night and had a bit of a blast and loved it. Ball was coming out nicely, bit of shape away and the odd one cutting back in. Had a bat and hit it okay. I could get back into this again. Stiff as a schoolboy in a sex shop for the past few days though.

I gave away all my kit back in the day, so I went to a local specialist cricket shop to check out gear and what not.

OH MY GOD. I nearly had heart failure! I wasn't going for top of the range stuff because no one around here is pushing 80mph when they send it down.
