been playing golf a year now and always had a very small slice/fade but as it was so small i was advised to let it be by a pro. anyway, i was sailing along nicely scoring low 90's and high 80 for the last 3 months or so. BANG!!! over night i developed a HUGE over the top swing causing massive slices or big pull's.
after a lesson i was told my takeaway and back swing are fine but on the transition i lead with the arms and torso and come over the top. 3 lessons later and after countless amount of drills i still can't get rid. shot a 106 today. i could have shot myself .

Grim. Getting the downswing right seems so much harder to me.

Jim Maclean used to have a video on the net about getting "in the slot". I'm surprised you haven't found a drill or swing thought to sort this. Keep at it though.

Maybe you should try some excessive 3-ball drill?

got the same problem , trying to get the feeling of my arms just dropping down instead of opening my shoulders first , cant believe how hard it is to get it,just got to keep practicing at it, im ok until i put a ball down :D

It's a very common problem, one I have suffered with, and can be the cause of any number of ills - pulls, slices, and the dreaded s****.

The way I try to counter it is concentrating on keeping my right elbow close to my body on both the backswing and after the transition. It seems to work for me.
