After my horror lesson on Firday where I was shanking nearly every ball come the end of the lesson I managed to get down the range last night and hit a large basket without one shank so was hoepful of not having a complete disaster in today's club major.

Proceeded to have a great front nine with 7 pars and 2 bogies for 38, 4 under handicap, parred the tenth as well which put me 5 under handicap after 10 holes. Nerves then got the better of me for a couple of holes and I scrambled a bogey on the 11th and dropped two shots on the short par 3, which was criminal.

A couple more loose shots saw me home in 44 which was disappointing after the start but one below handicap on Friday seemed an absolute impossibilty.

It's a funny old game.

Well played. Shame about the last seven holes but the first 11 were top quality. I guess its about working onthe drills and keeping the new swing going. Good shooting though
