After dispensing with 2 dodgy-mexican-looking high h'cappers on Monday in the pairs knockout, I thought it might be good to bite the bullet, get the old swing on video and see what's what.

I really wish I hadn't now. I'm also surprised my pro didn't need picking up off the floor for laughing too much.

He showed me Zach Johnson alongside my swing (on the software). What was funnier still was the program rates the swing (I don't know how). Zach had "excellent" scored against his and I had "good" scored against mine. I'd have thought "disaster" would be more appropriate. :o :D

Anyone else dread opening the can of worms?

Are they supposed to send it home with me? :)

I wouldn't want something that horrible in my house.

Now were REALLY curious

One of these was me today.

Phone a friend? Ask the audience?

I've never seen my swing on video and have no intention of doing so. I would just see a huge amount of faults to fix and thats not what I want in my head. At the moment I just swing back and through in a natural way and hope its good enough

I filmed a lady pupil swinging a golf club, showed her the video and asked her what she tought of it.
After a few seconds she said "I'm never wearing those trousers again" :)

Nice. Even my daughter is more concerned with her choice of blouse than her swing plane.
Women, eh?

My mrs filmed me at the range a few months ago (unknown to me incidently). I can honestly say it's the worst thing that ever happened to me golf wise. All i saw was fault after fault and couldn't stop thinking about it for weeks.

I think you start to automatically compare your swing to those finetuned, rhythymatic works of art you see on the tellybox

I'm a great fan of seeing my swing on video - but only when I'm having lessons and trying to change something.

I am absolutely 100% convinced that my swing now will look ugly. I probably take the club away on the outside. I'm sure the club will be in the wrong position at the top and I know I will drop the club off plane when I start the downswing...

...but I'm in the form of my life and quite frankly at the moment I'm happy putting all that to the back of my mind and forgetting about it - out of sight, out of mind and all that.

I'm a recovering tinkerer as far as the golf swing is concerned and I don't really want to fall off the wagon all the time the ball is going in the right general direction.

I have put the odd video clip on here before so most people know what an idisynchratic set of motions it is. At best like last weekend it is very, very good. Usually it is resaonably well behaved with the odd tantrum thrown in on a few holes but every now and again it's like a surly teenager and does the opposite of what it's asked to do

why is it that the pro's that our swings are compared against are those that we have, physically, the least in common? my pro used Adam Scott (before he turned to the dark side), TW (of course) and a couple of others of similar build.

about all I have in common with them is two arms and two legs, the bit in between overlaps them by some way.

where are the swing videos of Calcavecchia, Petersen, and others of more manly form?
