I won a few quid on Portugal at the weekend so invested in 10 long odds first round leaders in the hope that someone at least places and gives me a stake for the weekend. Outright proper I've gone for Kjeldsen, Noren, GMac and Harrington in the W/O Speith, Day, Rory and DJ market (40s, 50s, 60s and 80s respectively I think). Ovviosuly I need the wind to blow! Realsitically I'm waiting for friday evening, I'll have a look at who is within striking distance on moving day and how they set the course up/what the weather is doing.
One and done? Big Phil. Why? Becuase in March I put down a whole pound each way on a Major treble. Willett at the Masters, Grace at the US Open and Big Phil to repeat his heroics at Troon last time (but without the silly first round). If he wins it's about £3k.
As you can imagine, I will be shouting for Phil.

Have split a mahoosive £15 stake between Dustin Johnson, Jordan Speith, Rickie Fowler and Richie Ramsey, all E/W.
Just expect a Yank to win again BUT...
...Ramsey at 200-1 with placings up to 7th seems pretty good odds given its in Scotland on links in so-so cool weather and he had a good week at Castle Stuart just qualifying last week, Aberdeen raised Ramsey is made for links golf. 4 of last 5 Open winners played scottish open the week before too.

Obvious pick is Dustin Johnson, placed last week at 12/1, straight win bet.
Adam Scott and Sergio Garcia have the best Open records in the field, both have won this year on the PGA Tour, so are e/w bets at 25's and 28's respectively.
Martin Kaymer and Francesco Molinari are both bang in form, good links players, and are good value at 50/1 and 125/1.
One player I think is overpriced this week is Hideki Matsuyama at 66/1. A top talent, normally very consistent but has gone off the boil recently. However, normally turns up for the big events and has a very good Open record.
Probably backed too many players this week but can't help myself, too many players have a great chance.
