I bumped into Fundy in the carpark who was chatting to a member who I have seen around but don't know. Anyhow said my hello's to Steve and wished him luck in his match and headed to a packed first tee. When I tee'd off there must have been 15/18 people watching. Hit an ok drive into the par 5 bunker and upon reaching the hazard I was forced to take relief as the bunker was full of water. I dropped it behind the bunker and lasered the pin at the back of the green, 236 yards. I did not want to try and land a 3 wood on the upper tier so I pulled a hybrid. Game plan was land close to the front and pitch up to the hole. As I am not playing at the green I go ahead and play.
I flushed the shot, lovely pure stinging draw.... Landing yards from the guy from the carpark who was bent over checking his line.
I'm the fool, I did not take the wind into account. My guy turns and raises his arms in disgust, rightly so. I was mortified, I hate people who do thing like this, I was just not switched on. I did go on to knock a 25 foot putt stone dead for a tap in birdie but had to wait until the 7th tee to grovel my appology.
The guy could not have been nicer about it and asked how many weetabix I had had. Nice guy.
Reading this back I was just a total idiot for not waiting another 2 mins.
