One thing I've found out today

Whilst playing in the mist.

My £250 Bushnell rangefinder wouldn't work in it, but my mates £100 Amazon rangefinder did.

Posted about this before on here.

My caddytek range finder works no problem in the mist when my mates fancy Dan bushnell doesn't work.

Yep...my bushnell sucked in the fog today. Tried the little/old gps. ....it didn't work either. Damn tech....I had to "think" to figure out the distance. Almost killed me.

My Leupold laser has a fog mode for days like today. You could ask why have a fog mode, why not just have the thing set so that it just works in foggy conditions without faffing about.

My understanding is that the device does not work as efficiently while in the fog mode, that it is a compromise for dealing with a specific condition.

It may be that the cheaper model is permanently compromised while the Bushnell is optimised for perfect conditions. Just a thought.

Haven’t tried my new Bushnell yet, my old Nikon usually worked in light fog.
I wonder if is to do with using a different wavelength?
