I have been offered the flu jab for the first time.
I know of a couple of folk who have had a bad reaction to it.
Any advice would be welcome.

Whilest i'm not old, I have had the jab a couple of times and I've been fine apart from a dull throb over the injection site. This clears up after a couple of days though.

Also, I've not had the flu

Spooky, I got it yesterday, nurse said there are no side effects apart from a sore shoulder.........it's not the flu virus you are injected with, that's the old way.
However.....if you have any allergies to eggs or latex it's possible to have a reaction, the culture is made with I think a derivative of eggs and the bung in the syringe is latex.......don't quote me on all this as just relaying what the nurse said, but I'm looking forward to NOT catching the flu this year as I get it Every winter.......bah!

I am lucky with my health and try not to take any medicine at all, not even a paracetamol.

I also have it every year and have had no side effects. apart from a dull ache in the arm the day after. I also found it does help keep me free of colds over the winter. I find that if i do start to feel ill a day dosing up with lemsip and they go,

I get offered one through work and at the GP because of my diabetes. I haven't had any reaction apart from the arm feeling a little sore the day after.

I had it aged twelve, and was sick as a dog. Not had one since, not had flu either. Not convinced.
