Oh...hello Cat2, Personal best and season target 1

last sunday i won the medal and although a cut was had, 0.3 seemed not enough of a bounty for the quality of golf played. So hitting the course today complete with my new "glass half full" approach, today was a stableford comp ideal for a nice cut.

After a nice gentle warm up on the range at 7.30, it was into the bar area around 8am, for a quick snack and onto the course, after a nice steady par start on our `1st, a shot dropped on the 2nd SI2 and our 3rd par 3 and im 2 over after 3... ok not bad and its stableford so i can pull it back. (SEE TIGER NEW ATTITUDE)... so what happens , a solid run of pars with some lovely putts and chips and i hit then 10th tee +2... 2 better than last week and 5 less than HC with 23 points.

10th... drop a shot missing the green on a par 3 and lipped the par putt
11th, awesome drive, but slightly blocked.. poor course management and i putt out for a double
12th, missed green but a lipped putt means a bogey
*cue panic attack... 4 shots gone in 3 holes chasing a bloody card.
13th snap hook into the cabbage, lost ball, but par with my privisional see''s another 2 shots gone.
f**k... +6 on the back nine with 5 to play, come on we can still do this......
14th, par 3 - PAR
15th par 4 si 4 - PAR
16th par4 BIRDIE.....
17th Par 4 PAR
18th BOGEY,....

so there were go, 41 points, no blobs, second comp win on the bounce but more importantly, 1.2 cut - YES!

My target for the year was 12, and we still have 3 or 4 comps left... can i get to 11........... its bloody close.

either way im chuffed to bit and have a new personal best of a gross 76 around my track, previous was 79.

Huge congratulations.

That's some playing, nice to pull it back when the smelly stuff was hitting the fan early on the back 9.

thanks jocko. the saving grace was a georgous par with my provi down 13, a bad judgement on 11 was costly though, wedges, and chipping today made that card.

roll on next week, need to knock that final .4 off to get to 11. my best ever hc was 13 as a junior, so sitting here at my lowest hc is great,

Last week i won the side swindle, which had me cut to 9 off the swindle, and even off 9 i got 2nd today, so teh gits have cut me to 6 for next week, that should be fun!

Let's hope so, getting to ten next year would do me just fine, still reckon there's more in this swing that needs a tweak but it's coming together

Woo hoo!!! I look forward to receiving the cheque in the post I hope you learnt your lesson about card chasing. Great comeback on the back stretch but remember as a handicap golfer you are going to have some bad holes accept them when they come and I bet you'll start getting them one at a time rather than in batches .

Very well played fella now just let reaching single figures (or 11 for that matter) happen naturally!

I think my one bad call yesturday come on our 11th si1. Ended up with a bogey but after a solid drive should have been a bogey at worst. Don't worry tiger I'm not going to chase the illusive single figures just yet, want to enjoy 12 for the winter pairs comp before another cut.
