Half way through my round today I found a Srixon AD333. Put it in my pocket as a spare and proceeded to duff my shot into the trees. Chipped the Srixon onto the green which is where the revelation came. I was absolutely amazed at how different the ball felt on my putter. I was a bit sceptical as to the difference the premium balls would make and hence buying 100 Pearl Top Flite's from eBay, but it really does feel completely different.
Think I'm going to have to get some of the different premium balls to try them all out and keep the Top Flites for practice only.

Btw, there's not really a point to this post, HID is just fed up of hearing about golf and I thought telling her this would push her over the edge.

So you'll be changing your "in the bag" section soon then.

If you think the Ad333 is a big jump then avoid Pro V1's or Z-Stars etc. You may just have a heart attack ;)

AD333 are a reasonable middle ground between cost and feel in my eyes. As are PD Softs and other mid range balls. Most important thing i think is to find a ball that offers you nice feel both around the greens and to your wallet. But also try and play the same ball to ensure consistency and at least give you control over variables outside your technique as much as possible. £12 will get you a dozen PD soft in Sports Direct at the mo.

Ad333 are a mid range ball. That said, anything is a massive step up from topflight.

One day I will convince my dad of this.

I used AD333s today. Seemed sensible given I was 100% going to lose balls.

How many came up short? None.
How many 3 putts after racing past? Too many.

The worst ball for putting ever. Even my daughter can't putt with them and she uses Pink Golden Bears. :o :D

Well that shows how much I know :D Maybe they just felt premium compared to my Top Flite!
What's the best and cheapest way to try a bunch of different balls? Apart from finding them!

Might give those a go thanks. £1 a ball isn't too bad and I'm not losing as many as I used to. Are they available in store as well do you know?

Bang on! I know there are limits, but I struggle to reign it in too!

Have a try with the ProV practice balls. £20 a doz. Ok not cheap, but compared to the full price they are. Yes you can use them in comp's to.

They are in my local store anyway so should be in yours.
