I already have a bag full of clubs but I'm struggling pretty bad with the driver at the moment. It short, right or most likely both of these!

No, I have hit this same driver about 300 yards (once) and consistently in the 250 yards mark until the start of this year. It's also worth saying that I've lost about a club length this year so I'm clubbing up to get the distance I was getting a year ago.

So, opinions please. I have a voucher for a lesson which I'm planning to take very soon. Should I spend some money on another lesson or two over the next few month or would an offset driver be a better spend?

Lessons, lessons and more lessons in my view. Unless there is something wrong with your driver then it's your swing that is the problem. Have lessons to sort that out... no need for new driver!

My suggestion would to get a few lessons. If you've lost distance and slicing your driver compared to a year ago, it may be just a quick fix to get it all back again. A few lessons should get you sorted with an understanding of what went wrong and how to stop it happening again.

go and see your club pro, get a lesson, but maybe ask about new drivers, sometimes you can get a lesson or two free as an incentive to purchase.

But definately get a lesson....

Lesson all the way. It is probably a case of poor ball position, overswinging (maybe the dreaded reverse pivot) and trying to hit it too hard. Your pro will give you some drills to get the driver you already have booming it again

I think I've lost distance as I'm holding back in my swing rather than over swinging - I hope I haven't developed a 'reverse pivot' - that sounds pretty hard to fix!!

Lesson it is then and I'll steer clear of an offset driver (who are these really for then?)

Get a few lessons,
Drop the driver from your bag for a few months and play with either a 3 wood or 5 wood off the tee's instead.....
Ill bet you'll be glad you left the big fellow at home.....

Try it...It wont hurt :(
