Just back from a round at Muckhart. Course of the day (for those that know it) was Arndean/Naemoor (Up the hill then out by the road).
Didn't really feel comfy on the 1st tee and started off with three bogeys and thought "here we go again".
But... and it's a big but, I checked behind me that no one was chasing me on and took a step back on the 4th tee, gave myself a wee breather and gathered my thoughts.
While nothing clicked and I still didn't have a tremendous round, I didn't have that terrible round that I saw myself shaping up to have.
In the end I shot a respectable (well, to me) 79 Gross (67 Nett) on a Par 70 - finishing with a 20yd chip in birdie on the 18th.

I think that too many times in the past I would have let the negativity get to me but having that wee "talk" with myself (I'm sane, honestly) rescued the situation for me and I walked away with a smile knowing that it was a good morning's work.
