Normanby Hall

Not far from me, just over the Humber. I have played it once, many years ago, and from memory it was ok, supposed to have matured nicely.

Send a message to 'Whereditgo' - pretty sure he plays there.

While you're around, try and play Forest Pines in Scunthorpe too, lovvverly place.

Yeah its my home course, pretty good nick for a muni course, not that I have a wealth of experience lol

I really like the place though, nice friendly atmosphere, reasonably challenging with well established woodlands, a few gentle elevation changes and plenty of wildlife running around.

Make sure you get your tee shot off the 3rd bang on as too long or too short leaves no shot to the green on this par 4 dog-leg, you need to be level with and just to the left of the 150 yard marker ideally ;) SI 2 but the toughest hole on the course IMO.

Enjoy your round! :)

Normanby Hall is a little under rated. When it is in its best condition it can be lovely to play and pretty formidable.

I have played it many many times over the years and seen it at its best and worst, yet even the worst is half decent.

The only problems you get there are complete novice players or groups of thuggish muppets from time to time, if you miss them you can have a good round of golf there.

It used to be very cheap too and well supported by local authority(dont know about now?)

I can remember when the devils elbow was the 16th not the 3rd :D

The council has put a bit of effort and funds into the course recently and its in good condition, my only criticism would be that some of the bunkers could do with the sand replacing and some of the tee boxes are pretty uneven, but being a bit picky here!

Devils Elbow only returned to being the 3rd (which was the original layout apparently) around March this year.

EDIT: Makes me feel SOOOOOO much better that others regard it as testing lol

Cheers guys.
I have it in my gps.

Looking forward to playing it but not looking forward to 36 holes

If you are going vig, I hope you dont get any numpties as you will enjoy it.
