I have been looking to fill the gap between my 3 iron and 3 wood, and was thinking of a 5 wood. But tonight at the golf club, I saw a demo vr hybrid, 21 deg with a stiff voodoo shaft.
Took it out for a try, and absolutely loved it. I was hitting it great, and felt really comfortable with it.
I can use it for a couple weeks so going to try it on the course and see how it goes. It has a different flight from my 3 iron and seems to go further, so I am able to carry both, and feel like this could well fill the gap instead of the 5 wood.
Just looking for opinions on the club, and the idea of it filling the gap instead of the 5 wood.
Thanks

JT

James,
I have an 18 & 21 deg VR. Superb clubs. They are doing them pretty cheap at Direct Golf (£80 or 2 for £150). Nevada Bob's will price match as well.

Can thoroughly recommend them.

Thanks Rick, I was very impressed, I have tried hybrids before, and had a tm one in the bag, but it was more a hat rack than a useful item, so i was really suprised at this one, still to take it on the course but actually quite excited!

If you're feeling adventurous, they even do a 15 degree version or 1 iron equivelant. They had one in Nevada Bob's in Borehamwood......I was soooooo tempted.

Also I see you have a set of MP60's. You could always put an MP CLK hybrid in the bag. This is another great club and I can vouch for these as well..... (my other bag is a Mizuno set up :o )

Thanks again Rick, I am looking forward to getting out with the hybrid, maybe will look at the 18 deg too, but want to see how this pans out first! :)

Rick have you changed all your clubs,i cant remember you playing all nike at beau?

PJ, I've still got the complete set of Mizunos, (MP62 irons, MPT wedges, MP630 fastrack driver, MP 3 wood & a couple of CLK hybrids & MP FliHi's), but when I saw the new Nike VR pro blades, I got shiney stick syndrome.......luckily, I hadn't got rid of my VR woods, hybrids & wedges from when I had the old VR irons.........confused yet??

I just registered on the Mizuno Forum last night, so obviously I put my Mizuno set up in my profile... :D

Yeah...they go great at the range.... :o

Just messing about with my grip at the moment and made some minor swing tweaks...scoring on the course at present isn't reflecting my range performance.......hopefully will be sorted by Beau & Woodhall Spa...although I suspect I might be back off 8 by then as I've played a few stupid comps on freezing greens and got a whole load of 0.1's back.....I never learn!!!! :( need to update my H/C...
