I have read many articles regarding the wild card picks for the Ryder Cup. Most people are swaying towards Clarke and Casey. With Poulter going away to America in search of money and Monty spending the last two weeks in Scotland to prepare for Gleneagles should he be picked on past form? ideas...?

Clarke and Casey for me.

Clarke because he is playing well at present and he forms agreat partnership with Westwood.

Casey because he is a more solid and dependable player than Poulter and i think the yanks would prefer to play Poulter than Casey.

Yep, another for Clarke and Casey, both have a better game and temprement to take to the big occassion!

Monty on the backroom team I hope.

It has surely got to be Clarke and Casey, but I fear the Poulter rumor is true- he has already been given the nod. Not that this is a problem as such he is a great golfer and has showed some good form of late but I just prefer Casey as an all round guy. Clarke speaks for himself though- he is a definite surely?

Ian P. can be Mr GIR when on form. Team him up with a hot and cold player and that should be a safe gamble.

If Clarke, then Fisher
If Poulter, then Casey

But ideally it should be Fisher/Kaymer and . . .

we have to get these two guys into RC, we will be depending on them in the future

Clarke for definite - he is on fire and has a lot of confidence against the Americans, especially after the K Club. Can't see Westwood on the tee without his great mate on the first day either.

Then it's Poulter. He's had a pretty good season and played really well in the Open. I know they already said it on Golf Night, but that putt on the last could have been the one to win the jug...loads of pressure and he delivered. Will be that sort of pressure to a factor of 10 in Valhalla. He's also a great character and will get the guys together on and off the course - he wears it on his sleeve and will make sure everyone is pumped up. And no need to worry about his dodgy clothes as he'll be in Faldo's clobber ;o)

I am a fan of Casey too, but I think he is struggling at the moment. Last few tournaments I have seen him play and it looks like he is fighting to control the ball all the time. When he is interviewed he sounds really downbeat too - especially at the open. Is he playing well enough and with the right mindset for the RC? Not for me.

No votes for Monty then? No...been brilliant, but not playing well enough this year...watch it on the TV big man.

Casey and Clarke for me.

Poulter has done very little since his open 2nd place. I think if you took away this result he would be further down the rankings than Casey.

Casey had a top ten in the US last week. So for me Casey and Clarke are the two who are in the best form. Pettersen would be my next pick. The only thing keeping him out is the lack of experience as we are likely to have a few rookies make the team

With Casey and Poulter missing the cut in the US does this alter Faldos thinking.

Does this open the gate for a bit of an outsider like Dougherty, who is a Faldo backed player, who is playing well in Scotland and needs a second place to make the team on merit.

With Casey and Poulter missing the cut and Poulter and Monty having a bit of a war of words in the press I would think that Faldo may well be changing his thinking. Certainly I would not be surprised now to see Dougherty or Ross Fisher given the nod.

just heard Dougherty bein interviewed and he deserves a place on that alone...what a joy to hear a mature response to questions instead of these 2 tits Moonheid Monty and Poultass!
