Hi, fairly new to golf, I live in Gosforth and am looking for a regular golf lesson, any recommendations of a pro, would like someone with full videoing facilities.

Hi there. Don't know about the videoing element but David Clark at Morpeth GC is very good.

I'm pretty sure Joe Clements at Linden Hall has the video gear and I like him as well. Check first though, I last saw him at Foxton.

I take it none of clubs near to you, Gosforth, Newcastle City or Parklands offer this? Can't comment on the pro's there.

I'd imagine Parklands will at least as they have (or used to) a Trackman bay. Haven't been down since covid though but I had a couple of lessons there with David O'Brien which were all uploaded to your Trackman account, he gave some commentary on the swings etc.

@David_R_75 I just checked, that golf hub is right next to the town moor on Grandstand Road, pretty easy to get to if you are in Gosforth.

Finding the best coach for you is far more important than getting a few video clips.

I’ve tried 5 or 6 pros in the NE, David Clark is the best by a long way. Keeps things very simple and doesn’t bamboozle you with science. I’ve recommended him to loads of people and they all rave about him.

I’ve been to The Golf Hub in Gosforth, I bought a package of lessons a couple of winters ago when my game was in pieces. Very good setup but the pro was very technical and it just didn’t work for me. He has moved on, no idea what the new guy is like.

I can't recommend Mark Penny enough who works for Elite Golf up at Linden Hall. Little bit out of Newcastle but you have full use of the practice facilities while you're there.

Uses Trackman and provides a video summary of the lesson which is great for practice.

Mark has got my game down from 20 to 11. Top bloke.

Are they working with 2 pro's up there now then? The former assistant at Foxton moved there as the pro a few months ago.

I would not have thought they had the numbers to warrant 2 people.

I've a feeling they've all gone up there. (Elite). As they were previously at The Northumberland golf club. But they now have their own pro, John Harrison, previously at matfen hall for a very long time.

As far as I understand it the whole of Elite Golf moved there from Northumberland GC.
