So Saturday night, the night before we flew to Ireland, I says to Missis T "what you looking at on yer iPad". " oh just where to spend New Year's Eve, where do you fancy". eh, where did that come from. Done Berlin and Edinburgh, and they were both bloody freezing, I know this conversation is gonna rear its head very soon so any suggestions re where.

Early night in bed, I like Christmas but I've never been a New Year celebration person, just a nothing night and reason for a beano, means nothing IMO

Pub 500 yards from my front door. No rip off prices, no taxi issues just good company and good beer. Perfect

Did Helsinki for New Year with the ex_Mrs Colch a few years ago and it was great. Will fit in well with the bloody freezing theme you've had going on - I think the warmest it got in the four days we were there was -12C. Midnight in the square in front of the cathedral was mental.

Im getting Married , so Dublin .....

unless I do a runner ha ha then somewhere in outer Mongolia , but she will look for me , she will find me & she will marry me .. :p

Old enough now that home is best, wee dram then off to bed but when I was younger I managed Sydney once and twice in Chamonix, Chamonix was full on mental at new year, Sydney was just a mahoosive crowd but warm at least, my rucksack of beer was gone by 10.30pm and couldn't get near a bar.
Any of the Alpine resort party towns are probably great at New Year.

Barcelona is great for new year. One of the best I've ever had though was Leuven in Belgium, about 25 km from Brussels.... It's a University town.... Flights (10 yrs ago) were £50 return and we did Brussels for a few days and then Leuven....

Apparantly when we were at the races last night, Missis T was talking to another couple we were with about renting a cottage in Derbyshire. Only I was not privy to the conversation coz I was busy talking to pals I had not seen in ages.
But it's me that might of found a cottage. 😳
Looks like being another cold new year 🌨🌨🌨☃⛄️☃🌬🌪💦☔️❄️⛈

The topic came up during a BBQ yesterday

Its a pretty big deal here so usually a very good night and looks like we'll book a meal deal type thing at one of the hotels on the coast which will give plenty good view to firework displays etc

edit: falls right in height of summer so the beach dominates folks plans
