I had my first outing with my new 48 degree vokey and 56 degree spin milled vokey.

My pitching was never brilliant, but after using these today theres no going back. Anything within 70 yds was put inside 5 feet. Even my chipping around the green was decent.

All in all a brilliant purchase. Just hope I can keep it up.

Well done - but you realise that now you've bragged about it, you'll never do it quite as well again don't you??

Keep it up!

I played for the first time with my new 52 and 58 degree Vokey wedges yesterday, and won the roll up with gross 78 for 39 points. They do take a little getting used to as the head feels heaver than my old ping ones.

Yea there was one full shot with the wedge which I managed to thin right through the back of a green and in to the sh*t.

Good news and well done. I have to say I've let my short game and particularly my pitching go a little over the last few months and I'm paying for it on course. Trouble is its one area of the game that I really prefer to do on grass and as our practice ground could moor a tanker at the moment there's little chance of that happening soon.

I like the vokeys and had I not decided to get the TM's to match my Tour Burners as was and my R9's I have now then to me there is no other wedge on the market that compares to them

I played Thursday with my new 50 and 56 degree vokey wedges for the 1st time and agree they are superb.I have been having 36 + putts but Thursday was only 29 and that was down to chipping so close

I have just bought the new 2009 52 degree spin milled wedge and the 2008 spin milled 60 degree. The difference i find is amazing! My pitching with the 52 is alot better than before and the spin im getting from 50 yards in, is really helping me get close to the pin! Just one question though, who thinks the new rules about grooves are a good thing?

I do.

I also don't see why spin gets you close to the pin. I can putt close to the pin, what does the spin add. Provided what you get is consistent, it makes no odds if there is spin or not.

For those who have new wedges, and are finding their short game improved, you don't think it is the application of shiny new stuff which is making you focus a bit more than usual?

Other wise you truly can buy your way to a better game, and we kind of know that isn't true.

Is this new club syndrome with the Vokeys, i.e. why are people suddenly playing better and scoring better because they have new wedges?
What do the new Vokeys give you that other decent wedge's don't?
Intrigued....

Its like any shiny new club - they are great until the batteries go flat and then they are like the rest. I do agree with murph though and think the new rules will be beneficial, ironically for the average player more than tor pros who have more time to practice feel and distance control. With less spin off wedges, it should be easier for club golfers to get consistancy as opposed to getting one shot to check and another to release.

It's OK I got rechargeables with mine!
