Hello :)

I recently got in to golf when a family member bought me some lessons as a gift, I have no idea why they bought me golf lessons but here I am lol!

Now that I've finished my tuition I'm a little lost on what to do next. I have no friends, family or work colleagues that play or are interested in golf leaving me with no one to golf with. I haven’t bought any equipment yet so its no loss if I call it a day with the golfing but for some reason I seem to be hooked. I go to the range and chipping greens at my local course 3 or 4 times a week to go through the things my pro taught me but I feel that I might just be wasting my time if I am never going to actually step out on the course and play.

What would you guys do?

Get yourself a cheap second hand set of clubs and play public courses. If you still want to play, join a golf club and play/practice as much as you want/can. Golf is a sport where you can play on your own and you can still enjoy it :D. Could always put your Ipod on and listen to Celene(sp?) Dion ;)

What type of clubs should I be looking at because there are so many out there and at different price ranges with different specifications I wouldn’t know where to start.

I did consider playing on my own but since I’ve never been out on the course the idea of doing so is fairly intimidating.

Anyone able to advise in regards to club choices and what I should be looking at when it comes to picking clubs for the first time??

Go for a game improvement club with a big cavity back to help get the ball airborne and give you maximum forgiveness. Loads of good models (not necessarily the most up to date) such Callaway X16, 18 or 20 Ping Rapture, G5 or G10, Mizuno MX300. Have a look on line under game imrpvement clubs and see what's out there. If you can though, try before you buy.

The Mizuno ranges look nice, the mx1000 cought my eye the most but do seem a little pricey. I can't seem to find the Pings forsale anywhere though, any ideas??
