Hi all,

I have posted a couple of threads asking for fellow golfers advice and opinions on a few golf accessories I have been producing. It started out with personalised leather score card holders which had some mix opinions mainly on the fact that people tend not to use them any more.

I am now in the process of developing a stylish, durable easy to store multi tool. It has a ball marker, pitch mark repairer, ball centre line marker, tee snapper, groove cleaner and trouser pocket clip. It also comes in a stylish leather pouch, which like the scorecard holders can be personalised. These are the first metal prototypes and just have a raw metal finish, however I will be looking to anodize these in a range of colours. The ball marker and pitch mark repairer are magnetised allowing very easy use.

I am now again looking for a fellow golfers opinion, this may be hard to give with out using the tool, but I can assure you it functions really well, quick and easy to use (the pocket clip works great!), nice and light and not obtrusive in the swing.

However would you buy this for your self or as a gift? Do you feel a tool such as this would benefit your game? Do you like the slim durable styling? Do you feel it is missing anything? Any opinions or advice will be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Matt

For me youre trying to develop something that isnt needed. I dont want a muti tool for these things, i have a club cleaner on my bag, a pitch mark repairer and ball marker in my pocket, a ball line marker in my ball pocket, i dont want all these things in one

I think youre creating a product that will soon end up on the what did you get for xmas thread that no one really wants

Is it heavy? Can it fit in your pocket? If it does both then I really like it! Swiss Army knife for the golfer!

Looks interesting, not a golf tool man myself, did you opt for a hexagon marker because of machining time over a circle? Also the pitch fork could have just retracted as opposed to coming fully out, not sure about your dimensions but I like my thumb to rest on the butt end. Is that a groove sharpener or cleaner? And what is the cut out for at the side?

looks good and something I'd go for.

Seems to me you need an independent, well respected, articulate, god with worsd forummer to test drive the tool and post a review up on here.

Obviously there are non, so I don't mind being your Guinea pig :)

waste of time

it was suggested on here before.

I have a new Bushnell Tour X Range Finder and the carry case is rubbish, i have looked online and no one seems to do a range finder case.

a quality leather flip top range finder case could be what you are looking for!

I assume you want honesty so here it is...it looks like that sort of thing that a non-golfing relative would buy a golfer for xmas because they don't know what else to buy and would ultimately end up in the drawer with the other bits and pieces a golfer has no real use for.

I wish you luck I really do but I just don't see a need for it.

Thanks for the feed back.

It was just a hex ball marker to fit in with the aesthetics of the tool, nothing to do machining. It was tested that the pitch mark repairer just retracts but we found this harder to use, with it coming off the tool completely it allows the user to remove the pitch mark repairer off the tool whilst in the pocket (without removing the whole tool from the pocket). It is a groove cleaner not sharpener as it is in the users pocketed we thought it to be wise not to have anything too sharp. The cut on the side is the pocket clip, it allows it to easily slide on and off but will not accidentally fall off whilst walking.

I would love to send these out to a few guineas pigs soon, we are just testing the first small batch (which was expensive to produce), after we will make the necessary changes and look produce larger production run and take it from there.

Thanks again keep the advice coming.

Cheers

I can't see it being light enough or not being relatively bulky. I carry two tees in my pocket, along with a pitch mark repairer and a ball marker. When the tees are gone I replace them. And the groove cleaner is in the accessory pocket in the golf bag.

Once upon a time I used to carry all sorts of rubbish in my pocket.

What's the difference between reaching into a trouser pocket and reaching into an accessory pocket in the golf bag? Easy one, nothing bulky or heavy in the trouser pocket.

I like the flick knife style pitch repairers, they don't put holes in your pocket and have a magnetic ball marker also, my club has got some with the crest on but they open up arse about backwards and I think £8 is too high a price point for them!

Not something I'd ever buy, for myself or for someone I liked.

Can I ask though, what is a "tee snapper"?
Apart from the literal meaning (which would be pretty pointless) I can't imagine what this might be.

I think you'd be better keeping things simple, a multi tool is a jack of all trades, master of none.

Design a really stylish pitchmark repairer at a reasonable price and you might be on to a winner.
I've posted previously about my superb Odyssey pitchmark repairer which I paid good money for but get pleasure every time I use it as it's just so, so, ACE!

think ive been through 3 or 4 bushnell cases in the last 5 years, would happily pay good money for a decent case!!!!!

One of those things which is a nice idea in theory but less so in practice. Even that lovely Swiss Army one posted above would probably get little use. There are 4 things I carry in my pocket,

Tees
Pencil
Pitchmark repairer
Ball maker

All small cheap and easily carried, what's the advantage of combining them?

Best golf multi-tool is a tee - can also be used as ball marker, groove cleaner and pitchmark repairer.

Good luck anyway. Best option in my view would be as club branded merchandise for souvenirs or golf day giveaways.
