New Member - Hi to you all

We went there a couple of years back on our way to St Andrews and we had a pile of 2 for 1 tickets to use and with Muckart being on the way we went there......none of us had ever heard of it but we all really enjoyed it and had a cracking time on a course that was in great nic.

Hello Greig fae Fife
I used to live in Fife - but after they built the dual carriageway I worked out how to get out ;)

lovely wee course at Muckart - played the ladies open there a few years ago - it was my first ever ladies singles open. Me and my partner got lost at the top of the hill. they had to send a search party out for us.
i just went onto HDID to check how many whacks at the ball I had...lets just say I broke 100 (NET!)

hahaha - just reminiscing - i took 11 whacks on a par 5...ah, those were the days...

Welcome. I popped my forum meet cherry at Muckart and it was a cracking 18 holes!

Look forward to trying the other nine...

Its well worth making the effort to get to any of the meets if you can.

Thanks all for your welcomes. Sapcor1, just outside Dunfermline.
Heidi, the par 5's are still a bloody nightmare especially those two coming down the hill on Arndean.
I will do my best to get to the meets but as I said earlier in the thread, anyone local (or even not I guess) who would like to have a bat round Muckhart just shout.

It was the 7th hole apparantly. I remember me and my playing partner went out last, and at the top of the hill - either the 3rd or 4th we didnt know where to go, so we let some guys play thro, then some more guys, we finally came in about midnight ;)
I took 8s on the other two par 5s...hahaha

David, yeah I'm sure the Scotsman did like a featurette thing called Hidden Gems of Golf and Muckhart was in there.
The unusual layout of the 3 9 holers is what does it I reckon. The rotation does the course wonders as well on top of the fact that you can always get a game. Unlike my last club where you had to get in before the seniors on a Sunday if you didn't want to play in a medal or other comp...

Welcome . My sister still lives in Leslie so I pop up every now and then. Will give you a shout when I'm up next.
How's your short game?

Yer Maw, yeajh I get a good craic vibe from this place. But lets face it, golf will unite :D Muckhart is a lovely track and has the best Steak Pie I have ever tasted for a mere 7 quid!!! Where in Fife you based?
Heidi, I think you are talking about the first of the par 5's coming down the hill (the 7th on Arndean) it's a b*****d... lol, It catches most people out as it's very deceiving due to the downhill lie.
Golfcitydweller, thanks, don't think I've found a forum with more than 1 fifer before :D

Muckart, must be a great track judging on the number of replies, unless greig is a ladies name in scotchishland!!! :)

Do you play during the week, I head up to Aberdeen twice a year with work.......and if you weren't up to much, at a loose end.......maybe, only if your sure..........we could like ....er.......play a game sometime.

Thats fishing for an invite, or how I used to chat women up. Didn't work then either.

Welcome on board.

Hi fellow Gowfers (as we say in Fife :D).
Just joined after reading many advice threads previously.

Just thought I would introduce myself and say a general howdy.
Wee bit of info, I live in Fife and a member at Muckhart GC, a lovely 3 x 9 hole complex not far from Gleneagles.
Have been playing for around 20 years (although I had a break from 2003 - 2006 due to a serious knee injury).
Handicap is currently 12 but hoping to break single figures by the end of this year :)

Anything else you may or may not want to know just shout.

See you round the boards.

Greig

Welcome to the forum Greig :)

Haha, thanks Liverbirdie. To be honest I tend to just play when I want. I can pick and choose my hours of work so sometimes play morning and work afternoon... It's a hard life I tells ya. :D
Bobmac, no worries. Short game... It's, well, short... :D:D Lets just say I don't drive for show lol
